Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The article you are about to submit is original, and is not currently under assessment for publication by any other journal.
  • The content of this manuscript has been approved by all authors.
  • The text is formatted in accordance with the bibliographical norms and guidelines described in the Author Guidelines section, in the link About the Journal.
  • I am aware of the fact that, if the article does not obey the Journal’s guidelines for publication, it will be returned for the appropriate adjustments.

Letters to the Editor

Readers’ opinions on published articles. They must present solid comments on published topic and/or a controversial issue.

Original Article

Original and unpublished researches which contribute to the development of knowledge in a specific field. Their content must include the following sections: Introduction, Materials e Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion.

Review Article

Critical and systematic reviews of the literature of a certain area. Review Articles should present the main evidences, discussing their methodology and controversial aspects, presenting the author’s own interpretation on the subject.

Case Report

Descriptions of important and well-documented cases under a clinical and laboratorial point of view, including a brief review of the literature, a description of the case studied and an appropriate discussion.

Communications

Brief, non-detailed articles on an ongoing scientific research, reporting their preliminary results. Their purpose is to inform the scientific community about the development of new discoveries, this way guaranteeing the authors’ priority on the issue.
